Battery Interrupter
Some Basic Information
What Is A Battery Interrupter?
A battery interrupter is a tool/device that allows any simple, battery operated item to be activated by a switch. It does this by using a 3.5 mm mono female jack with two wires and a double sided copper clad plate. The copper plate is placed into the battery compartment between the battery and the battery compartment.
The battery interrupter redirects the flow of power to the jack.
Important Notes:
Not all toys work with battery interrupters.
It can be placed on either side of the battery, the positive or negative side. I have found that if you are using the Double-Sided Copper Clad Laminate PCB Circuit Board that is 1.5MM thick, it is easier to put it on the side with the spring. This is best because it can be hard to get the battery in if it is placed on the side without the spring. With other battery interrupters that utilize a different style of copper plate, the plate can be placed on either side of the battery as it does not take up much space and will not impact your ability to put the battery in.
